  • The Fiscal Management program provides a compliation of the Head Start program requirements neccessary for fiscal integrity. The programs are designed to broaden participants understanding of their program's performance and to determine if they are meeting the requirements of the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), Uniform Guidance and Head Start Act.

Strong fiscal systems are key to a healthy program. The programs below help agencies in making the most of their financial resources. Each program provides strategies and best practices to help grantees account for their federal assets, comply with regulations, avoid waste, manage risk, and strengthen internal controls. Participants will recieve tools to support grantees in generating in-kind contributions and meeting matching requirements. Learn how to develop sound reporting systems, and execute budgets that reflect your program goals and priorities. Each program is 12-36 weeks in length, the courses are offered in pairs, or "blocks," designed to complement each other. In these programs, emphasis is placed in the 2 day courses or online classes on regulatory compliance, reading and online discussion and a work project to reinforce the practices and principles learned in the courses.   • Classes begins every 6 weeks. The deadline for registration is one week before class date.
  • Admission Criteria

    Candidates for admission to the credential program must be employed in a Head Start program and possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
