This course will focus on helping
participants to recognize and identify
the uniqueness of each child, including
children with disabilities, apply child
development principles as they plan for
and interact with children, support
parents as the primary influences in
their children’s lives and reflect on
their practices and determine whether
changes are needed to encourage all
children’s growth and development.
This
course is designed to provide students
with opportunities to explore, reflect
and build a theoretical grounding in
child development. Students will
have numerous opportunities to link
theory to practice, with a focus on
hands-on learning. Students are
encouraged to question, reflect and
integrate their experiences and reading
while they learn from each other through
small group brainstorming, problem
solving and discussions.
