To enroll in a
certificate or credential program, you must be
employed at a Head Start or Early Head Start program
and complete
a
candidate
application. The application begins your journey
into the curriculum and provides the university with needed
personal information in order to start your candidate
profile and transcript. Once you complete the
application, you submit it with the application fee.
The fee is $485 and covers the 3 years you are enrolled into
the program.
The credentialing and
certificate program is designed to create a competency-based
curricula relevant to the work of a Head Start family worker
and includes a credible approach to assessing the attainment
of Head Start competencies. The program is linked to
academic credit and degree programs and to other forms of
recognition for Head Start employees. The program is a
curricula for Head Start employees and accommodates the
training needs of those staff who are likely to work for a
Head Start full time.
The University has created state
of the art training and assessment strategies that will
ultimately increase job performance as well as enhance the
quality of the services and outcomes to children and
families served.
