Course Information: This 5 day in-depth health credentialing course is designed to help health services staff coordinate, plan, implement and organize comprehensive health services for children and families in Head Start.  Participants will learn to collect and monitor health services data and maintain files for compliance.  You will also learn how to distribute specialized health  reports and perform health performance standard requirements.  As part of the credentialing process, you will  learn how to coordinate, prepare, organize and assist in federal health compliance issues such as the collection of health information for the Program Information Report and the annual Self-Assessment. Best practice and instruction will be given on how to develop and implement health service area plans and how to work with your Disability specialist to ensure the timely referrals of children with special needs. This course concentrates on the health data collection, reporting and monitoring processes.  Participants are introduced to methodology for obtaining various health information including medical history, nutrition, immunizations, dental records and other medical needs of children and families.  In depth knowledge and resources will be presented on how to maintain child and family records as required for program compliance, how to monitor compliance with health and nutritional guidelines, how to ensure nutritional assessments are completed and that menus meet nutritional standards, how to coordinate services and track medical screenings and tests, how to provide awareness of special food differences/restrictions of children, how to monitor the planning, development and implementation of nutritional learning experiences in classrooms, how to assure that ongoing health and nutrition education and counseling for parents is provided, how to work cooperatively as a member of a team with program staff and community resources, how to make health home visits as needed, how to prepare, maintain and submit proper documentation for health and nutrition services, how to attend and participate in departmental and agency staff meetings, training, and planning sessions, how to perform medical treatments as prescribed by physicians as needed, how to administer prescribed medications as needed and how to care for sick/injured children as needed.  Our manuals have over 100 forms, detailed CD toolkit and written regulations for use after the training. Day 5 will be spent on review and exam testing where participants upon successful examination process will receive a credential as an Health Services credentialed professional.

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fees are as follows:

  • $1495.00 per person

Cost includes 5 day training ($1095), candidate application fee ($485), two exams ($370) course training manual ($55), detailed toolkit CD ($199) ,breakfast and all breaks and access the the latest regulations and Health Services information. Cancellations. Cancellations made after August 29th will be charged $50 per person cancellation fee. If you cancel, you may send a substitute from your organization or transfer your registration fee to a future seminar (with a written request to HSU Training), and we’ll waive the cancellation fee. Participants who register but neither attend nor cancel will be liable for their full registration fee.
