of EPSDT schedules and CDC terminology.
Course Description: This course is
designed to help programs effectively
track and monitor comprehensive health services. Participants will
learn how to understand requirements as described in the Head Start
performance standards as well as how to break down barriers in order to
successfully partnership with both parents and providers so that children
can get the health care
they need. The core principles of the
conference is to help participants:

Develop a partnership
between families and providers at a "medical
home" where families can establish a continuous, ongoing source of accessible medical care
-
Evaluate the quality of
their program's screening and exam practices and
communication with parents and develop strategies for
improvement
- Understand and explain to
parents the importance of continuous health care
- Support parents in
obtaining follow-up services for identified health needs
and track provisions of services
- Develop strategies to work
with parents to advocate for needed services and build
collaborations with providers to improve family and
child benefits.
