Managing Mental Health Requirements for EHS/HS Programs

Course Prerequisites:   

 

Course Description: This training is designed to provide teaching staff, home visitors, family service workers, managers, 

as well as consultants with a process of reflecting on their own practice, assessing difficult situations and designing 

interventions through collaborative problem solving.  This training will help staff understand mental health, 

so they can design and implement practices that support the mental wellness in children and families in their program. 

Participants will learn strategies on how to develop a system for gathering information from a variety

of sources, identify when and how to seek appropriate support, identify situations for which contingency plans are needed

develop strategies to promote resiliency with families, children and communities, plan activities that improve the fit between

temperament and environment, assess your program's mental health service plans to determine how well it supports 

requirements, implement ways of observing and recording behavioral issues in the classroom and meet the federal

mandates as it relates to mental health.
