Description: This course is for new and experienced family
service and support staff. It will help staff
to strengthen families to ensure the well-being and
health development of families. It is designed
to help staff to understand and effectively help
families articulate strengths and challenges and
offer support system to meet families needs. Participants
will get tools and forms to help them record and
track progress as well as how to follow through with
families in a non-threatening, non-evasive manner.
This course is designed to help staff work with
families through a process that is family-centered
and strength based.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion, you will be able to:
· Teach how to partner with families
· Work with families to develop and implement agreements
· Help families understand and assess the impact of significant life events
· Encourage family growth and development
· Understand how to record the family’s progress
· Follow-up with families on services received
· Offer families support based on their strengths, interests and needs
Target Audience: This course is designed for family workers, health workers, education
workers, parent involvement workers, administrative
staff, managers, program area managers, directors,
coordinators or anyone working with parents in a
supportive nature.
