training you will learn about:
Understanding
Head Start Communication - You will learn about the
keys to effective communication such as positive
approaches and speaking and listening in a ways that
is considerate of listener.,
Speaking
and Listening Effectively - You will learn how to
convey respect and techniques for moving
conversations along.
Using
Plain Language writings - You will learn practical
skills for making written communication more
successful.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion, you will be able to:
· Understand the role communication plays in creating and maintaining
positive relationships
· Identify factors that enhance the appeal of messages
· Recognize that every communication is an opportunity to reinforce Head
Start’s mission of valuing parents
Target Audience: This course is designed for family workers, health workers, education
workers, parent involvement workers, administrative
staff, managers, program area managers, directors,
coordinators or anyone working with parents in a
supportive nature.
