What is HSFIS?
The Head Start
Family Information System (HSFIS)™ is a case
management information system: the first of its
kind designed by Head Start for Head Start.
Head Start  designed
HSFIS to be user friendly, graphical and
customizable for your program. To ensure
that HSFIS would be useful to Head Start programs,
information and ideas have been solicited from the
programs themselves as well as the Head Start
Bureau over the past nine years.
Information
collected by HSFIS can help Head Start programs
determine eligibility for enrollment, identify
family service needs, provide program level
demographics statistics and track delivery of
services to Head Start Families. HSFIS also
is intended to enable Head Start programs to
respond better to local and federal reporting
requirements..
HSFIS has a number
of features corresponding to the Head Start
program areas for child development, health and
nutrition, family development and social services,
as well as features for managing recruitment of
Head Start families. Some of the main
features are:
